If you don’t believe in yourself, who will? So, firstly, take a step forward and start.
MIC CHECK…HELLO…CHECK…HELLO…
ONE: Don’t be afraid to stand out: Don’t be afraid of being different, be afraid of being the same as everyone else.
TWO: Form your own interpretations: “No great artist ever sees things as they are. If he did, he would cease to be an artist” – Oscar Wilde
THREE: Find your X-factor: No one else knows better than you as to what your strengths are. Learn to use them to your advantage in your own style.
FOUR: Know what will set you apart: Understand what’s unique about you even if it is weird to you yourself. Be confident in your body, you never know when your unnatural body language may become your signature move.
FIVE: Be good at what you do: Nothing comes before this. Expertise at what you do is must; that’s a prerequisite to all the above points. Without being good at what you do, your style statement won’t get you far in your field.
SIX: Get a funny bone: To succeed in life, you need three things, a wishbone, a backbone and a funny bone. You need to learn to laugh at yourself.
SEVEN: Keep at it: don’t give up yet: Loosen up; don’t let success or failure get to your head or heart.
And if ever you feel like quitting, think about why you started.
